Not Everything is Black & White

Surprises revealed at new Art Students League of Denver exhibit

DENVER -  Art can expand viewers’ perceptions. And the Art Students League of Denver aims to do just that with its latest exhibit, Not Everything is Black & White. Showing now through September 13, 2014 at the Niza Knoll Gallery, 915 Santa Fe Drive, the exhibit features a mixed array of media from selected Art Students League of Denver artists and is sponsored by Delta Dental.

The exhibit explores what preconceived notions affect how we perceive our world. At the end of the exhibit, surprises are revealed to help viewers examine their own ideas and influences that might impact perceptions.

In conjunction with the exhibit, the Art Students League of Denver is hosting two events.

  • Faculty Artist Margaretta Gilboy will lead a Salon Discussion, Thursday, August 21st from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Niza Knoll Gallery.
  • One Night Screening of !Women Art Revolution, Sunday, September 7th, from 7 to 9 p.m.,  at  SIE Film Center. The screening includes an open discussion following the screening lead by Margaret Woodhull, Director of Interdisciplinary Graduate Program, Master of Humanities at CU-Denver.  Proceeds will fund ASLD Adult Scholarships for women artists.  Tickets are $18/members and $20/non-members and are available here: http://www.denverfilm.org/filmcenter/reserve.aspx?id=35696&FID=78
