Charlie’s honors local heroes
The staff at Charlie’s honored local emergency workers with a reception and refreshments Sept. 25. District 6 police Commander Tony Lopez and four of his officers were on hand to meet with members of the LGBT community, answer questions and discuss their concerns. Lopez asked those assembled to support Denver’s request to “de-Bruce” property taxes in the November election. If passed, Measure 2A , would eliminate furlough days, hire new police officers and firefighters, restore library hours and help repave some city streets.
