Colorado LGBT group honors allies
The second annual Ally Awards was held on August 24th at the University of Denver’s Cable Center. The event, presented by One Colorado Education Fund celebrated allies who worked across the state to enhance the lives of LGBT Coloradans and their families. This year’s award winners included: the Girl Scouts of Colorado, Companeros: Four Corners Immigrant Resource Center, Dr. Christopher Urbina (Director of the Colorado Department of Health and Environment) and Faye W. Tate (Vice President and Director of Inclusion and Diversity at CH2M Hill). State Representative B.J. Nikkel also received special recognition for her support of civil unions.
